eLoran Research and Measuring
For eLoran researchers and service providers/operators, it is vital to be able to survey and monitor the various features of eLoran signals, such as pulse shape, signal strength, and exact arrival time of the signals.
Measurement of the exact arrival time of the signals with regard to an independent time reference is key to calculating Additional Secondary Factors (ASFs) and the generation of ASF maps. If a service provider has ASF maps available to its users, the accuracy of eLoran throughout the service area can be increased dramatically.
To accommodate the above mentioned needs, Reelektronika is designing and implementing eLoran measurement platforms to establish such ASF data.
Reelektronika’s competence and capabilities in research and implementation of signal processing techniques provides an excellent basis for the design and production of flexible systems to measure and monitor all aspects of the received eLoran signals with the highest possible accuracy.
The basis for most measurent platforms is Reelektronika’s eLoran receiver called LORADD. The standard receiver can be modified with additional hardware logic and analogue electronic circuits to allow maximum flexibility in functionality of the receiver. Further, the receiver’s firmware can be be modified to allow processing and outputting of the additional measurements.
